3 years ago I first moved into Gander not knowing where I was going to end up or how long I was going to stay.
Lyric, who was known as Bashful at the Gander SPCA, made me love my life so much more. On nights I felt lonely, she was there. Everyday when I’d come home from work, she’d greet me at the door. Every time I said “come to bed with mom” this kitten beat me to the bed and slept on my pillow with me. 8 months after, I moved back home and left Gander. Thankfully, I got this cat out to my home with me. Who would have known 3 years later, I'd end up moving back to Gander for a job and this cat still meets me when I get off work, still sleeps on my pillow, follows me everywhere I go and has become my best friend. I wouldn’t know what to do without her here & I also wouldn’t know who I could count on to catch my tears (literally, she puts her paws up to my face and catches them) and who puts a smile on my face. To her, I’m her hero. To me, she’s my world. |
