Sadie found herself at the Gander & Area SPCA in 2010, right when I was looking to add another dog to my family. She immediately caught my eye on the Gander & Area SPCA website, something inside told me she was the one, however one thing or another got in the way and I ended up adopting from another shelter - she was also adopted around the same time. On the day my new dog was at the Gander Vet Clinic to be neutered, Sadie was there to be spayed – I remember staring at her, so well behaved, so beautiful, regretting not going and meeting her.
Ten months later I walked into the shelter and there she was, her adoption did not work out and she was back once again looking for a home. All night I couldn't sleep with a million questions running through my head. Could I afford another dog? Why was she back? Could I let this opportunity pass by? Was this meant to be? Well, the very next day she was mine! As much as I still regret not adopting her the first time around, she came to me the at the perfect moment and helped me through a difficult time in my life. She didn't have the best start in life, she had every reason to not like or trust people but she is the most loving dog you will meet – no hug lasts long enough for her and it's always the perfect time to cuddle. It took us a little while to find each other but in the end it was meat to be. |
